No.
After setting up Kite 2, the hearing settings will automatically be stored in Kite 2, so using Kite 2 with the Yinbei app is optional after initial setup.
The main use of the Yinbei app is to adjust the hearing functions to fit your hearing needs.
Is Kite 2 suitable for seniors?
Yes, Kite 2 is easy to use, even for seniors who are not tech savvy:
- Thanks to the neckband design, the user would not lose or misplace the device.
- It’s easy to wear around the neck and plug in the earpieces correctly, even for those with reduced dexterity.
- The button operations are simple: Volume up/down, and long-press the power button for 3s to power on/off.
- After the initial setup, Kite 2 functions independently without any smartphone.
- Optionally, Kite 2 can be paired to the senior’s smartphone to help them hear phone calls more clearly. After pairing, Kite 2 will automatically switch to let them hear phone calls, and switch back to let them hear the environment after the call.
Do I need to pay extra if I visit your office for help with the setup?

How often should I repeat the hearing test in the Yinbei app?
We recommend you repeat the hearing test every three months or when you notice a significant change in hearing.

Is it waterproof?
Kite 2 is IP-54 rated, which means it can endure light rain - but please do not immerse it in water!
How to clean it?
You may clean it using alcohol wipes. We recommend removing the eartips prior to cleaning them, and reattaching them once they are dry.
Can I use the Health Care Voucher (醫療券) to purchase Kite 2?
No. Currently, the Health Care Voucher offered by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR cannot be used to purchase hearing aids.
Will I receive a shipping tracking number?
Yes. We use SF Express to fulfil most online orders. After your order is handed over to SF Express, you will receive an email with a tracking number.
Can Kite 2 be adjusted for left/right ear separately?
Yes. During the hearing test, the left and right ears will be tested separately. Afterwards, Kite 2 will customise the sound for each ear individually.
Remark: If there is a large difference in hearing sensitivity between the two ears, we encourage you to seek an ENT to identify the cause.
How is the noise reduction different from what is found in regular earphones?
Nowadays, most Bluetooth earphones use active noise cancellation (ANC) to block out all the sounds from the environment. This makes it more difficult - not easier - to communicate with people face-to-face!
Kite 2 analyses the sounds in the environment, separates the different sound sources, and uses an AI-based technique to identify which are noise and which are the useful sounds (e.g. human voices). This, combined with algorithms for personalising the sound to the wearer’s unique hearing ability and target signal enhancement, helps the wearer hear what they want to hear.
Can I use Kite 2 overseas?
Yes, Kite 2 can be used worldwide.
Does Kite 2 require an active internet connection?
No. Kite 2 does not connect to the internet. All the audio signal processing is performed by the chip inside Kite 2.
How long has Kite 2 been on the market?
Kite 2 was launched in April 2022.
Since then, we have made numerous upgrades to the hardware and firmware.
The current version is already stable.
How should I recharge it?
Most users recharge it overnight. It takes around 2.5 hours to fully charge from 0 to 100%, and the battery lasts around 15 hours.
Is Bluetooth radiation harmful?
No.
The Bluetooth used in Kite 2 is a form of non-ionizing electromagnetic radition, which does not cause any harm to your body.
The Bluetooth function in Kite 2 is certified by the State Radio Regulation of China (SRRC).
